Kenny Brown...Album of the YEAR!! Awesome stuff Kenny. Hoping for a studio album soon.

Nice new site

Kenny's two cd's are BRILLIANT!! Where was the band playing when recorded? I would have advertised it as Kenny Brown "LIVE" at..?.and his Back Porch..

Any blues enthusiast can appreciate Kenny Brown's two-disc release on Devil Down. He keeps the genuine spirit of roots music alive and well, and so too do the folks at Devil Down Records. Keep up the good work, all.

Congrats for the great work you do for making the blues alive.

Wow, I've been looking at Fat Possum for new music by Kenny Brown for forever. We discovered him through being fans of R.L., saw the caravan at the Southgate house about 7 years ago. Is T-Model really still playing? Enjoyed some jack with him that night when he wasn't on stage. I'm so happy to find that Kenny has an album with you. I'll be getting it post haste!!! We just might be able to make the picnic weekend work this year too!

Love yo stuff!

I've been waiting for a video from this CD! Happy for you Kenny!!!!!

Just bought and received your Mississippi Fred McDowell CD...FANtastic! I host a blues show on KUNM-FM in Albuquerque and will be playing several cuts from it in coming months. I hope you all will be in touch with our Music Director, Matthew Finch. Love those Hill Country Blues!!!

Absolute Sweetness !!! Devil Down where have you been ??? Please,Please,Please continue this kind of work and you will have a lifetime customer.

This wonderful recordings brings more music and atmosphere from master Mississippi bluesman Fred Mc Dowell. I hope other unissued Bill Ferris' sessions will also see the light. I particularly remember a recording session from B.B. King accompanied by a sole bass that I heard at the Memphis Center in Memphis way back in the late 70's. Congratulations to all involved in this great record.

This is hot as hot can be.. congratulations to Mr. Turchi and Devil Down Records!

What an awesome experience hearing this for the first time. It brought me back to when I first discovered blues as a kid... so fresh, so real and so amazing! Thanks Reed, thanks Bill, and thanks Fred! Your music will live on forever...

I forgot to mention the artist's name in the mail I've just sent. The album 'The Lowdown Back Porch Blues' is the first album ever by Louisiana Red. Rien Wisse

Dear folks, Received the review copy of Fred McDowell cd today. Sounds great. But it's strange that even Bill Ferris couldn't identify the song 'Dream I Went To The U.N.' as 'Red's Dream'. He performed the song on his first album 'The Lowdown Back Porch Blues' (Roulette Records) from 1962. Author of the song is Henry Glover. Best wishes, Rien Wisse Block Magazine The Netherlands

Many thanks for putting this out. I'm a longtime--- and life-affriming--- fan of Fred and his music. All the very best!

I'm really looking forward to this disc. Thanks so much!
